Audrey Gup-Mathews
Grants Consultant / Grant Writer
Audrey brings 20 years of experience in grant research and writing, as well as nonprofit and education administration to the Maine Grant Connection. As Executive Director of River Tree Arts in Kennebunk, and later as the Kennebunkport Historical Society's first Development Officer, she secured grant funding for scholarships, program support, equipment, and historic home renovation. She was responsible for grants from the Libra Foundation, Stephen & Tabitha King Foundation, Ferguson Foundation, Fleet Bank Foundation, the Davis Family Foundation, and many other sources. as well as working with area businesses to build support for River Tree through its Business Sponsorship Program. The latter gives her valuable insight into the dynamics involved in winning grants funded by company foundations.
As Grants Coordinator/Writer at York County Community College in Wells for five years, she secured a number of grants to support new and existing programs, equipment purchases, professional development opportunities, the Visiting Artists Series, and much more. She was also responsible for the College’s first funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Locating funding for such a diverse range of projects honed Audrey's grant research skills and broadened her foundation knowledge base beyond Maine's borders. She looks forward to sharing this knowledge with other Maine nonprofits and helping them to achieve their funding goals.
A graduate of Bowdoin College, with a BA in Art History, Audrey received a Masters Degree in Art History from Brown University. For more information on Audrey's education and experience, go to LinkedIn:
